My First $1000 Day

CLICK TO GO BACK TO BUILD A NICHE STORE
CLICK TO SEE THE BUILD A NICHE STORE GUIDE
I have been on cloud number 9 today as I celebrated Thursday being my first $1000.00 day in affiliate marketing. I am not ashamed to say that my high ACRU score and the ability to earn $40.00 an ACRU helped out a ton. Not all was EPN or Pepperjam related either as I had several Amazon, Commission Junction, Linkshare and Google Adsense earnings fall in perfectly as well. If you set your goals and keep working smart and learning, anything is attrainable. I was once a newbie myself and it seems so long ago. Dedication and the want to learn and try new things should be at the forefront. I am not one to really stop and smell the roses. I do not ever go through any type of burnout because I always have a list of things in front of that NEED to be done. I just do not have time to bleed. The internet opens up a world of limitless possibilities to anyone who wants to achieve something. Free and pay information is right at your fingertips. It is so hard for me to believe that I only use to thump this thing on the head every now and then. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Jump in feet first, live it breathe it, hunt it. It is their folks. If a redneck like me can figure this out, anyone can do it. Keep your heads up, keep striving.

Congratulations! If you do not mind me asking, how many sites did that come from?

Mike, according to my records it came from 53 sites. Some produced a mere few cents, while others huge amounts. The 15th is when I really fine tooth comb everything and document the spreadsheets. Needless to say bi monthly that turns into quit a task, but with the numbers as of late, very rewarding. Keep at it!

Dave,

Congratulations!! Your post came at a good time. I have been at this three months and have begin to second guess the wisdom of the effort going into this with virtually no payoff to this point. I am curious if you have BANS and WordPress up on all your sites or if you still have some raw BANS sites?. I got into this as the de-indexing was starting so my way forward is only combination sites. I wonder if that is a mistake?

Way to go!!

That is extremely impressive.

I myself would be beyond thrilled with a $1000 MONTH... That is the nature of a college student doing this in his free time I suppose.

You are, as always, an inspiration my friend!

Very motivating news! I'd like to thank you for being so encouraging to those of us struggling to learn this crazy business. While I don't realistically hope to have dozens of sites out there earning any time soon, I do have half a dozen ideas I want to develop fully. Sometimes I want to give up, but posts like this keep me going. Thanks.

@Gerry
No not all are BANS/WP, but I am working towards that. Keep at it and keep learning. Start limiting the number of products per page and smother with useful content.

@Tyler
Keep at it brother.

@Bunny
One site at a time, learn how to build a site the right way first. It is easier going forward, knowing the right way. Eat the elephant one byte at a time.

Congrats on the success Dave!!

1k days are the best motivation to keep on building sites for sure! The best week I have every seen was at $5240 (During the CJ days). Like yourself, it was a combination of several programs, versus ePN only. It seems that since ePN have taken the program inhouse, the chart has trended in the other directions with eBay.

Hitting them on a consistent daily level is the hard part now, but it definitely sounds like you have the right plan in place.

Congrats again!! Go enjoy it!

Wow....Congratulations! If you could do that every day, that would be some pretty serious $$$. Even at half that, it's still a lot of money.

Since starting at square one with my niche sites, I'm no longer seeing the $50-75 days and am back to $5 and $10 days!

Wow! How awesome Soggy! Thanks for sharing and posting that. You are definitely an inspiration. I have been going at this for about 3 months and my goal right now is just a $100 month! It is slow going...but posts like this keep me going!

Congratulations on this great accomplishment!

Congratulations! Very inspiring to see that if you put in the work, you get the reward. Nothing better than the power of example. Keep up the good work (and the great posts)!

Dave,
Good grief, Dave, just think how much you could have made just working on your own sites and not helping so many other people. Me especially.....thanks a thousand times over and congratulations on your thousand dollar day.
Yes, being a newbie seems like a long time ago for me also but I still do stupid newbie things and have stupid newbie issues. Your encouraging words have kept me going through many dark times. I check your blog before I go to the forum nowadays. Thank you so much for helping all of us.
You are closing in on that Vegas dream, aren't you? It looks like a happy holiday season in the SoggyDave household.
My head is up and I am striving.

Hi Dave - CONGRATS on an incredible achievement. I have been 'lurking' for awhile and have several niche sites I plan to build. I am buying the BANS software. Do you have a guide you would recommend me buying or reading to ensure I build my first site correctly? thanks!

@sissy

Thanks a bunch. I hope things are going your way. Keep plugging away. You know what works.

@kelly

Tons of free info just on this blog and on the BANS forum. No sense spending any extra money just yet. Best of luck to you.

Nice one Dave. It shows what's possible when you apply yourself. What percentage of work would you say you outsource.

That is fantastic! I'm sure you have more than 53 sites, but how do you keep up with all of them in terms of content, blogging (if you blog on all of them) and so on? Working full time and making time for family, I have difficulty keeping up with 10 - 15 sites. Not an excuse, but some time there is just not enough hours in the day.

keep up the great work. You deserve it.

Awesome! You are an inspiration to us all! I am still working on my first $100 day. I wish you the best of luck in the future.

great job! do you mind posting a link to one of your sites?

soggy on August 14, 2009 at 7:49 PM said...

@garf - If you have seen what I have seen, you wouldn't be asking. Tons a people on the BANS forum with low morals. Every time I expose a site, it does not go well. From hacking attempts to being posted on message boards. It is not a good decision for anyone to show their sites, especially not me. Sorry can't help with that, but I think you understand.

I have a question. Are your sites making money because of traffic or because they are niche focused?

Would you say that the websites making the most money have the most traffic, and the websites with the least, have the least income?

soggy on August 17, 2009 at 8:34 AM said...

@Marco- Not all traffic is created equal. The sites making the most money have solid targeted traffic. This traffic is from like sites and long tail organic SERP results. Give me 10 targeted surfers over 100 non targeted surfers any day of the week.

How much of an impact is EPN's new QCP payout affecting you ?

soggy on October 26, 2009 at 5:47 PM said...

EPN is not the full flux of what I do. Regardless, the new QCP started higher for me, dipped down and now a tad higher than I was prior to QCP. I have an excellent month going with them, not a record month, but I have an extremely high record with EPN that I doubt I will break for a while. Nonetheless, I am very pleased. I have heard some horror stories of others, but can only judge on my stats, not others.

Congratulations! So how long have you been working with affiliate marketing from start to your first $1000 day. And did you do it as a full time job?

soggy on November 14, 2009 at 8:02 AM said...

Been doing affiliate marketing for quite some time. Took about a year once I reapplied myself. I have been full time for quite a few years now. I love it.

It's good to see the front page of the BANS site showing folks exactly what they need to do. Instead of having to learn through our forums folks get a great head start.
