Checking In On The Challenge

You may remember the 30 day challenge from a year or so ago. This years version is dubbed just "The Challenge" and although I have known about it for a while, I wanted them to get ahead quite a ways so I could dedicate a whole couple of days to watching everything. Their videos are top notch and newbies can really learn quite a bit as can veterans. I always pick up a few nuggets in these things. I would suggest setting aside large chunks of time for these modules though or depending on your time, you can go day to day. I like to knock these out in large sections myself and likely will revisit when they get back ahead a ways. There are tons of task to do, but I promise it is well worth the time.

New Wordpress Datafeed Plugin

A received a few messages regarding this Wordpress Datafeed Plugin. A couple of folks wanted to know if I have used the plugin yet. Linkshare Free SEO Web Seminar Next Thursday

More Kudos For The Blogger Blog Platform

I suspect after the upcoming anniversary of this blog, at the end of this month, I will get around to converting this blog over to Wordpress. I do not really have a good reason why just yet, other than just making sure I have better control over a few things with it. The Blogger platform is excellent and has always intrigued me, but I believe I have pushed it as far as it can go, but more importantly I just do not have the time to keep pushing the platform forward. Rest assured though, if you are a newbie, you can still make money with it and get it to rank without much effort.

I have been on cloud number 9 today as I celebrated Thursday being my first $1000.00 day in affiliate marketing. I am not ashamed to say that my high ACRU score and the ability to earn $40.00 an ACRU helped out a ton. Not all was EPN or Pepperjam related either as I had several Amazon, Commission Junction, Linkshare and Google Adsense earnings fall in perfectly as well. If you set your goals and keep working smart and learning, anything is attrainable. I was once a newbie myself and it seems so long ago. Dedication and the want to learn and try new things should be at the forefront. I am not one to really stop and smell the roses. I do not ever go through any type of burnout because I always have a list of things in front of that NEED to be done. I just do not have time to bleed. The internet opens up a world of limitless possibilities to anyone who wants to achieve something. Free and pay information is right at your fingertips. It is so hard for me to believe that I only use to thump this thing on the head every now and then. Today is the first day of the rest of your life. Jump in feet first, live it breathe it, hunt it. It is their folks. If a redneck like me can figure this out, anyone can do it. Keep your heads up, keep striving.

Popshops Items On Your BANS Store

I have been playing around a bit with PopShops the last month and adding some items to some Build A Niche Store pages. I did it in a controlled site that had tons of organic traffic. I was quite amazed at the results. Sold quite a few items using this method. Now let me say this is not for every niche, but you might be surprised at what you might find. The free version outputs javascript so that is a drawback as SERPS do not pick up or cache it, but the paid version gives you PHP code and integrates in well with a little tweeking. Hopefully the BANS 4.0 will have the ability to easily add php includes and I might dedicate a future post to it. The javascript code can be added in the bellow ads section and by using the 3 column BANS product listings, it allows the flow to be quite seamless. You will need to register with all of the affiliate programs other than Commission Junction if you want to show the products from affiliate programs other than CJ vendors. I will probably use it more and more on other stores of mine when I can get back around to them. Give the free portion a go and play around with it.

How I Started With Niche Store Building

I get this question all the time and thought I would knock it out on a lazy Sunday. Late in 2006 I began noticing several websites showing eBay products on sites. I was not new to affiliate marketing by no means, although I sucked terribly at it. If there was a list of the top sucky affiliate marketers at the time, I would of been #1. I knew these sites were making money some how as I knew they were not just displaying products out of the goodness of their heart. After searching the net for a while, I stumbled upon Easy Niche Store Script. It was very easy to set up and worked all off of PHP and no database. I just looked at the site again and see it still works that way. Anyhow, I gobbled up a domain name from Godaddy and a years hosting and was off to conquer the internets. Yes I paid out the nose for ONE domain on Godaddy hosting, see even I made huge mistakes. The eBay products pulled in via calling the php code and you inserted the code on whatever website you had built. My first store was very very crude. Was not optimized well and took forever to get many store pages knocked out. After 2 stores lots of late nights and very little income, I knew there had to be a better way. I then stumbled upon Build A Niche Store a few months later and bought it and installed it on those same 2 stores. I was so freaked out about rebuilding stores that I pieced the 2 together. Calling in BANS pages dynamically in my old sites. After I integrated the two I got very frustrated and put it down for a while. I didn't check anything, stats, sales or nothing. I think about 8 weeks went by and I got a pretty good check in the mail from Commission Junction and my Adsense account finally topped $100.00 after having it for quite a while. That opened my eyes that with my crappy stores and crappy SEO and pieced together stores that I still managed to make money. I then committed myself full steam. Read everything I could for about 3 weeks. Often stayed up to 2-3 in the morning reading and learning. I then started building, building and building. The light came on and the rest is history. So let me tell you. If a bird brain like me could figure this out, any of you surely can. Like anything worth having in life it takes learning and trial and error. Oh and by the way, I think I am down to #3 on the list of the top sucky affiliate marketers a of all time. Keep at as it has changed my life.

Build A Niche Store Budget

You need to ask yourself before going any further what your attitude is towards Build A Niche Store and niche store building. Are you in business or are you just dabbling in it? If you are truly dedicated to the process then you need to start treating your BANS stores like a business and get out of the shoe string budget attitude. If you are treating BANS like a $97.00 script then read no further.

If you have decided that you are treating your BANS projects like a business, you need to budget in cost and tools for success of each store. Now not all tools are needed and most are free, but many save you tons of time going forward. I only promote tools and services here that I use and stand behind. Many you will never see as if it is junk, no need for me to suggest it to you. Free or not. I buy my share of products, but can usually can tell real quick if I need it or not.

Lets look at cost associated with each store.

1. BANS script - $97.00 - Hopefully you have already bought this as it is the basis for everything we do here. The more stores you build, the more value you get out of it.

2. Domain name - $7.15 - I use Godaddy as it is friendly and I have yet to run in to any problems with them. You can figure on spending this amount on every new store you build, so budget it in.

3. Hosting - $110.00 - for year with Hostgator for unlimited domains and reliable service. The more stores you build, the more value you get out of it.

4. Directory Submissions - $15.00 per store. The Package is designed to submit your site to 100 High PR Directories and your choice of ten unique anchor titles & ten unique descriptions. This is not mandatory, but a huge time saver and well worth the money.

5. Wordtracker Subscription - $329.00 a year and well damn worth it as one great niche found can easily earn it back in one month. This is not mandatory, but will play a great role in your success at uncovering niches.

6. USFreeAds Gold membership - $10.00 a year. Not mandatory, but a well written ad will bring in traffic via Google. You do not get backlink love, but if you can write at least a targeted ad or two a week it will produce.

7. Other tools - $300.00 - Some good tools come down the line all of the time and it is good to budget this in as a yearly cost.

The total is $868.15 for one store. I know you are thinking that is alot, but after the initial cost the only thing you will need to buy is more domains a directory submissions for each if you so decide. Being how domains are so cheap, at the very least you should be able to build 20 stores in 4 months. 20 stores when targeted and promoted correctly will bring back that investment in no time flat. So less than $1000.00 and the best opportunity to earn a residual income forever. Working from home in your own spare time.

Get serious about this thing and it WILL produce.

Expired Domain List Finder

As you progress and get more comfortable with building more and more BANS stores, you might want to start looking at some expired domain names that may have some backlinks or age authority. Here is one place I look at daily. Fresh drop is a great little tool to play with. I have used them before and love it. Most are being sold through Godaddy so that is a plus as well.
