Open up notepad on your computer and paste in the activation code. Save the file as: epndomain.txt on your hard drive. FTP the epndomain.txt file to the base directory of the domain name that you would like to validate. If your website is www.biguglyshoes.com, your file would be located at http://www.biguglyshoes.com/epndomain.txt. From the Domain Confirmation Page click on the 'Confirm Domains' button to validate it. You will need to leave the file on your server until ownership of your domain has been confirmed in the Domain Confirmation Page. After confirmed, I suggest you remove it. Although EPN is currently only asking for at least one domain, I would suggest confirming all domains you have that you wish to use in conjunction with the EPN affiliate program.

Confirming Domain Names With EPN
Per the new eBay Partner Network Policy, you will need to confirm and validate at least one domain name. As part of their general push towards quality, EPN is requiring greater transparency from their affiliate partners. To do this, log into your EPN account and click Account, then click on Domains. In the Add Domain box, enter in the domain name you wish to confirm. You will then be given an activation code.

Existing account doesn't have to confirm. According to http://www.ebaypartnernetworkblog.com/en/news/ebay-partner-network-platform-updates-effective-july-20th/
"Although existing publishers are not required to validate their domains, doing so is a good idea, as it will help us know which domains you are sending traffic from and serve as additional information helpful in conversations with customer service or confirming your identity if your account has been compromised, etc."
Does that mean we are going to have to validate any new sites we put up later ?
As I am in the process of upgrading some sites to the nine steps suggestions - should those be validated as well ?
@au vpn Sure, but I would advise getting one in the system for sure.
@Keith I would, but that is just me.
Hi
Im no expert, where in cpanel do we save/load the text file?
Im confused!!
Thanks Matt
Matt, You can do it from the file manager in cPanel. upload it to the root of the domain from your hard drive.
Dave
Ok cool.
I was in file manager in cpanel, however thats as far as i got. Which directory does it go in?
Home Directory
Web Root (public_html/www)
Public FTP Root (public_ftp)
Document Root
Which one?
Then once in the proper directory, excactly where abouts does the text file get saved?
Thanks again Matt
@Matt, It goes in the same location as the index.php file of your BANS site.
Dave
Ok cool.
got it working. Fingers crossed get ebay approval. What a hassle.
Thanks for your help,
Matt
Hi really appreciate this post but how do you use it for a blog
I've got this blog
http://buyingairyeezys.blogspot.com/
And just registered for the network but after step two of saving the conirfmation code in notepad I don't know what to do next.
Please would really appreciate the help
regards
@Mr. O - You can not use it on blogger blogs. You need to own a domain name you can FTP the file to. Blogger blogs are now go against the new EPN COC.
Dave
Oh I see well thanks then
How long does confirming take? I uploaded the txt files all on aug 14th, as of today it still says unconfirmed. Is something wrong?
@Anonymous - Mine were almost instantaneous. Are you sure you did the process correct? Double check everything in the instruction from EPN.
Dave
I got the email from them with:
Unique Identifier: EDITED==
I removed "Unique Identifier:" in the txt docs that I uploaded (cause I tried with it at first, no go). Clicked the button to confirm, and have been waiting ever since.
I have three domains (all pointed to same host) and none can be confirmed. I don't know whats wrong. Any suggestions?
Hi,
I registered a bogspot blogger, I don't know if it can be used with ebay. If it cannot be used will they allow the option of choosing another domain (once i have registered it)?
Cheers.
Jim, No, you can not use EPN links on Blogger or ANY other site you do not own or can not verify. It will get you expelled if you do.
Dave
