Cutts On Article Marketing

Matt Cutts recently commented in the video below his thoughts on article marketing. Even though he frowns on it, you can tell if done right, it can help in your back-linking process. The problem is that not everyone does the process right. They do not start with a good high quality article to spin. They then do not spin it thoroughly using The Best Spinner, do not spin and rotate their anchor text and they likely do not belong to some good networks such as SEO Link Vine.

Article marketing should only be a small portion of your back link building strategy as well and all back link building should be slow and as natural looking as well. As best as you can get it. People hate to hear that it takes a good 6 months to a year to get a site seeded real well and producing a reasonable income. The old days of knocking out 1000 directories and submitting one article to 50 article directories in the first week is over.

Although Matt says they frown on article marketing, it can still be effective if done right. I have many sites that are proof of this. If you do it like 80% of the masses try to do, it will not help one bit. Take your time, spin them good, rotate the anchor text and pages they link to and submit over time.

Also be working on building other as close as natural backlink methods too. Not just through articles.

You Can't Put A Price On A Great Content Writer

I hated to write. I never dreamed one day I would have a blog with almost 1000 post that I would post almost daily on for almost 3 years. I found I like to write, no matter how bad it might be, about things I like, in niches I like. Does that mean I write 100% of my own content for my huge stable of sites? Absolutely not. I pay great writers. I have 4 solid writers I use at a moments notice now. It all depends on the niche and the content I need written. 250 word product blurbs? I have a great writer on Textbroker and an independent I found on a forum. Articles? I have 2 great ones I use on Need An Article. It took me a little while to find these writers that fit my style that I look for and I just can't put a price on them. They are indeed worth every penny I outsource to them. Do I still write some of my own stuff? Sure I do, but I find myself trusting my writers more and more plus money is not an issue. I am coming out of period of revamping 20 older thin sites into power packed niche authoritative sites. It was time consuming keyword and product research on my end, but translated well into easily outsourcing most of the writing. 12 of the completed revamped sites are already producing eye popping conversions on Amazon and 4 of the other 8 have seen their organic long tail traffic increase almost daily as the backlink building is taking hold.

When working out writers of your own, make sure you clarify the rules up front of what you are looking for. It will save tons of time and communication. Explain you do not want keyword stuffed generic articles or product descriptions just trying to meet the word quota. Provide them links to other works when you can for research and factual info. With product descriptions, I look for 250 or so words full of features, benefits and specs. Yes, it can be done in less than 300 words and not cost you an arm or a leg. These type of works only run you around 5 bucks each. What? 5 bucks for a page that can easily earn 20 times that in month? Yes. It is true. Now are my 4 writers the only 4 writers out there? No, it may take you some time to find a few that meet your own needs, but when you do, you can't put a price on them. Make sure to treat them good and keep them busy.

SEO Link Vine Closing Doors To New Members On Friday

Just as I thought, Brad Callen will soon be closing the doors of SEO Link Vine to new members this coming Friday at 2pm ET. The email Callen sent out says that he has reached maximum capacity in just a few weeks. This is not surprising as you may remember me telling you that I missed getting in Syndicate Kahuna before it closed as well. I have been on the waiting list there forever with no luck getting in as of yet.

SEOLinkVine is a blog network. If you need more clarification, you can read my earlier post on it here and watch the videos. Do not join with the "me too" attitude. Understanding Spun Article Marketing

I wanted to dig a little deeper today into Spun Article Marketing. Spinning articles is nothing new, but the ability to quality spin has improved over time, especially with such fantastic tools such as the Best Spinner. Article marketing is not new either, but it too has progressed over the years thanks to the Bum Marketing method and the 30 Day Challenge program. Putting both article spinning and article marketing together, gives you the best of both worlds.

Now when I talk about spun articles, I mean over 70% or so uniqueness. Just because the Best Spinner is a great tool, still means you have to use it properly. This also includes spinning the titles as well. If you use a tool like Micro Niche Finder or Market Samurai, you can uncover low hanging fruit in the SERPS that you can attract with carefully researched article titles. Spinning this into different versions with just one spun article is like shooting 15 birds with one bullet.

I submit spun versions to my favorite article directories along with a spun syntax to both Free Traffic System and Article Ranks. Not only do those articles get posted there, they also tend to get syndicated by bloggers throughout the web as well. This can turn one carefully spun article into hundreds of backlinks over time. Sure 100 is high number, but I have personally had an article syndicate that much when it happened to find a hole in the niche. 25-50 is more reasonable and I never met a backlink I didn't like.

Spun Article Marketing does take consistent work like any other method though. Take your time and spin them thoroughly. This includes bio blurbs as well as carefully researched titles. Take your time and try to pound out 2 a week in your niche. It works very, very well as it is the major root of my own backlinking building process that I build my own empire on.

Article Ranks Review & Coupon Code Number

OK, so I had a reader send me a link to Article Ranks and wanted my opinion of it. It was the first I had heard of it, but on the surface it checked out pretty good. I went ahead and dove in to give it a $10.00 try.

What is it? Article Ranks is an up-scaled version of Free Traffic System, I have used and promoted in the past on this blog. While FTS is still mildly effective to use even in the free version, you probably noticed that some of the quality of blogs are not up to snuff. I do not like the time involved and the method they have to rewrite and spin the sentences, but if you understand the format, you can use the free Crewriter or The Best Spinner and adapt the output VERY easily. It took me a few minutes to figure out, but I was able to take an article I did in the Best Spinner and export it out using the export function into the EXACT format that Article Ranks uses. That format looks like below:

Get the drift. If you never have spun articles or used The Best Spinner, you have no idea what I am talking about and should stop reading now. You do not have to spin mind you, but several site owners will reject and not publish your articles if you do not have SOME level of uniqueness and clarity to them. You can use up to three links in the articles, but I always just use 2 links and rotate around the anchor text used. One link goes to an interior page, while another points to the home page.

Article marketing has never gone away through all of these years and while it should not be your ONLY method of building backlinks, it is still very much one of the must effective ways to do so. If you are going to use this service, I ask you do so responsibly. If you spin, spin as if the article was going to go on one of your own sites. If you choose to offer up a site to the network as well, offer up a decent one, not just and old junked de-indexed site. I doubt it would be accepted any how.

If you are not yet using The Best Spinner for article marketing, you have been hiding under a rock. The program gets better by the day. Can you decipher the above? See what I mean? The directions are very well laid out and if you value your time, it is well worth the money spent. If you are tight on money, you can submit spun articles one at at time to the long list of article directories they list. The choice is yours.

Why Only 10-20 Article Submissions A Day?

A reader asked me in reference to my statement of only making 10-20 spun article submissions a day this morning. I wanted to clarify that I bit. I shouldn't say a day, I should say when I submit. I do have some days that I do string together multiple days of submissions, but they are not the same article and most of the time not the same niche. Using the ArticleBot makes this process much less time consuming. I do not believe in overdoing anything that might set off a flag with Google. Besides, thoroughly spinning an article 20 times at max is enough in my opinion. Those also will drip in over a 2 week period as well most of the time thanks to lazy article directory webmasters. I also mix up my directories I submit to as well. If you had one niche site and submitted one nicely and thoroughly spun article a week to 15 or so article directories with rotated anchor text pointing to both home and interior pages of your site, you can't help but to rise in the rankings. Create a schedule and stick to it and for Gods sake look natural and spin thoroughly if you are using the Best Spinner. Mix in some other types of backlinks along through the week and if you have done your keyword research correctly and properly SEO'ed your site, you will see the results in 90-120 days. The turtle wins this race that moves natural and calculated. Always remember that.

Article Directory List

A reader wanted to know which article directories I submit to. I use quite a variety of these type directories and never like to lock myself in a pattern for every site. I will use EzineArticles and GoArticles on nearly ever submission, but tend to mix it up after that. If you are looking for a list to pull from, I believe I have posted this Article Directory List before. You can sort the directories by 4 different ways, but I am linking to it by PR sort. Article marketing is very effective, but like anything else should be only a part of your backlinking plan. Also you should not overdue it either. Submit to 10 or so at a time and then wait a week. Imagine if Google noticed you getting 100 article backlinks in 3 days from sites foot printed like an article directory. It is liable to set off a red flag. Think natural as often as possible. Keep an excel file with where, when and what you submitted. It is much easier to keep track of.

Needing Hubpages Content, Just Look Around Your House

If you are just getting started with Hubpages and unsure where to start with as far as content goes, just look around your house. Any products you purchased lately that you could write a positive review on? Just narrow down a long tail keyword phrase via any of the keyword tools you may have and target the article around it. Throw in some links to the manufacturers product page and mix in some eBay and Amazon ads and you are good to go. You probably have a house full of content just waiting to be written about.

A Little More On HubPages

I received a few emails on my Hubpages post I made a few days ago and wanted to clarify a few things for those who are thinking of using it. First, yes it is free to use. Just make sure you follow the rules. Second question I received was asking if you can really make money with Hubpages? I certainly do and only been at it for a month or so, since re-acquainting myself with it. The key is writing good pages targeted around a keyword phrase and exploit it. These pages rank real well because of their authority, so within minutes of publishing a page, you could be on page 1 of Google. The key is the keyword phrase targeting. Another question I got was for me to explain the scoring of the Hubpages and the author rating. If you just do a little digging, it is not hard to find the answers to these questions.

I am not going to dwell much more on them, but if it interest you, you should read everything starting here and you will get a much clearer picture of what they are and how to create great hubs. If you rush right in and start without reading, you will likely get frustrated and quite. As my dad always said, read the dam directions, son.
