The latest Whiteboard Friday on SEO Moz is fantastic this week as it is done by Tom Critchlow and he covers what he calls Outreach for Linkbuilding. None of this is earth shattering and you will of course recognize that he mentions Twitter, which I have had great success with in certain niches. He gives great tips on how to reach out to other webmasters and online marketers for backlinks. Plain basic stuff, but broken down for you to easily understand.

Cutts On SEO Misinformation
Stumbled across a video I missed on Matt Cutts where he covers some examples of SEO misinformation that is floating around at there. Meta keywords, links & etc. I always enjoy watching these as they are short and to the point and Cutts does a great job simplifying the subject matter.

Joost de Valk Video: Making Sure Your Content Is Found
I try to keep my eyes open for so many things and stumbled across a great video by Joost de Valk below from the WordCamp in Bulgaria back in October. The audio is a bit hard to hear and it is a long video, but I think you will enjoy it just the same. Joost or Yoast as he is commonly known is one of the people I follow closely in regards to SEO and Wordpress usage. He is the master at both. Enjoy.

SEO Moz On Site Age & Domain Name Registration Length
If you have 10 minutes, you will not be disappointed with the latest Whiteboard Friday video from Rand Fishkin of SEO Moz. Rand touches on site age, domain registration length and age of backlinks and his answers are very encouraging for those of you that may be new or just getting back into the swing of things. Rand points to recent chatter on the forums about these very subjects as the reason for readdressing these topics and talks in a very understandable manner. Rand is one of my favorites in the business to learn from and I owe quite a bit of my success to things I have learned from him along the way. This is a great video and dispels several myths at the same time.

Found A Great Wordpress Template In My Spam
I love getting spam mail. Unfortunately I do not get time to go through it all but will sift through it every now and again to see if I missed anything worth value. Today I came across this great free theme and Wordpress plugin from Matts Marketing Blog. The plugin is a simply ad management plugin, nothing fancy. The Theme is great for niche sites and is very easy to customize. You can watch the video below that shows you how to go about using the theme. Great spam and I will be making use of this theme soon myself. Always sift through your spam, you never know what good junk might be in there.

Matt Cutts Talks Html Sitemaps
In the latest webmaster video by Matt Cutts he covers the need for a html sitemap in addition to a xml sitemap. Cutts goes over the advantages of having one and how simple or expanded you can go with them. Even an archives type tree in the sidebar could suffice if using a platform like Wordpress. I have talked about a plugin called Sitemap Generator Plugin for Wordpress by Dagon Design as well. See video below.

Video Never Killed The Radio Star & It Will Not Kill Your Site
I might be showing my age, but I remember the first video ever played on MTV. The video was "Video Killed The Radio Star", by the Buggles and you can see it below. The song is about the golden days of radio, describing a singer whose career is cut short by television. The talk and interpretation of that time was video was going to kill radio, but as we know all these years later, it only helped record/cd sales and music videos are as popular today as they were back in 1981. Everyday I am willing to bet everyone reading this post has watched some sort of web video today. If it was indeed only one video, I would be surprised. Web surfers expect video these days. Every site from non profit to shopping giants like QVC use it online. The Youtube nation is alive and strong. It is so easy to make your own video and submit it to the several free video sites out there. Not enough people take advantage of this and not enough people use the free videos done by others to help engage their own visitors. Look around you, look at the sites you visit on a daily basis. How are they using video? What are they doing that you could be doing? Video did not kill the radio star and it will not kill you to start finding ways to utilize it more. Now excuse me, I have some old Van Halen videos I tracked down I want to watch. I want my MTV!!!!
